Natalia De Castro has been Director for Academic Affairs since 2023 and part of GradGov since 2022 when she was elected as senator for the Higher Education Administration MPS Program as well as Leader of the Caucus for the School of Continuing Studies. Ms. De Castro has a history working in politics, advocacy, and educational policy.
Her employment history includes the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, the Department of Labor’s Job Corps Program, and the San Diego Registrar of Voters. She has an associate degree from San Diego Mesa College, a Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Cruz, and a Master of Education from Pennsylvania State University.
Over the past 16 years, Ms. De Castro has worked to get fair and equitable access to education for students. She wants to utilize her role as Director to make sure that the academic support services provided at Georgetown University both adequately support the student’s academic needs and that they reach as many students as possible. Additionally, she is interested in developing events that can reflect the importance of mental health on student academic performance.
