Guided Experience
Share wisdom and lessons from personal and professional journeys, helping mentees navigate challenges and celebrate successes.
GradGov Mentorship Program — our flagship initiative exclusively tailored for Georgetown’s (new window) graduate student community. As we launch this pioneering program, our mission is deeply rooted in unlocking unparalleled opportunities tailored specifically for our graduate students (new window), often an undeserved community when it comes to mentorship initiatives.
Our goal is to bridge the academia-industry divide, offering our advanced scholars a chance to gain real-world insights, forge influential connections, and be mentored by leaders in their fields. This endeavor underscores our unwavering commitment to enriching the graduate student experience at Georgetown, ensuring they are equipped, empowered, and inspired to lead in their respective disciplines.
Share wisdom and lessons from personal and professional journeys, helping mentees navigate challenges and celebrate successes.
Evaluate and provide actionable feedback on mentee projects, proposals, or ideas, aiding their continuous growth and learning.
Act as a beacon of motivation, inspiring mentees to push boundaries, overcome setbacks, and reach their full potential.
Serve as a reliable sounding board, offering an objective viewpoint, fresh insights, and solutions to mentees’ queries and concerns.
While we value and promote flexibility in scheduling, we kindly ask for a commitment to a minimum of 4 meetings throughout the program’s duration (from Nov to Mar). Whether monthly, bi-weekly, or at intervals that suit both parties, the aim is meaningful and constructive engagement.
Mentors and mentees have the freedom to choose their preferred communication channels, be it video calls, phone calls, or in-person meetings. The essence is to ensure effective and comfortable communication.
All interactions within the program should be held with the utmost confidentiality, ensuring a safe space for open dialogue. Mutual respect is paramount, fostering an environment of trust and understanding.
